The showroom, Throwbacks Home, which is due to open in early November, will feature furniture made from reclaimed and recycled materials and a selection of homewares and designer furniture.

The showroom will be 1,500 square feet and located at 35 West Grand River Avenue.

“Over the past few years, we’ve really challenged ourselves on how materials can be used. And what ‘salvaged’ furniture looks like. It’s exciting to now be able to show our original designs to a wider audience. It doesn’t have to be ‘rustic’ and it can be modern and refined,” adds founder Bo Shepherd.

Bo Shepherd and Kyle Dubay, the founders, have been featured by several brands including Architectural Digest, Google and Carhartt.

The two wanted to open a showroom in downtown Detroit for a while so customers could see and touch the furniture they make. Since all products are made from salvaged materials, mostly found in Detroit, opening a showroom seemed fitting.

“Throwbacks Home will be a great addition to downtown Detroit’s eclectic business scene,” said Ivy Greaner, Chief Operating Officer of Bedrock. “Bo and Kyle have created a beloved brand that uses reclaimed Detroit materials that speak to the vibrancy and resilience of their products and our city. As the first showroom of its kind in Downtown, we can’t think of a better duo to make it happen.”
