US Furniture Expert to Speak to Members of the Indore International Mega-Furniture Cluster Association

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Charles Spang, an American furniture expert, will speak with members of the Indore International Mega-Furniture Cluster Association (IIMFCA) and the state’s Minister of MSMEs OP Saklecha on Friday. Spang, director of global sales at leading US furniture manufacturer and retailer, Ashley Furniture Industries, will also offer suggestions on the future furniture group.

IIMFCA’s Vinod Bafna and Harish Nagar said here on Thursday that a furniture group was being developed on 300 acres of land in Betma-Khurd village on Dhar Road in the district. More than 150 industries will be created under this cluster where more than 20,000 people will get employment and investments of more than Rs 2,000 crore are likely to be made. Both said a good business opportunity will present itself on Friday when they meet Spang.

Spang will speak with members of the IIMFCA at the Brilliant Convention Center in the afternoon. Officials from Invest India, MSME department and DIC will also be present. Discussions will also be held on the status of the future furniture group IIMFCA and the furniture industry in the city and in India. Opportunities for a merger with Ashley Furniture, US, will also be explored.

IIMFCA members and Spang will meet Sakhlecha at Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport on Friday morning.
