Hooker Furniture has announced that it will be showcasing major collections later this month at High Point Market: “Charleston” and “Nouveau Chic”.

The Charleston Collection features over 90 pieces representing the bedroom, dining room, home office, accents and casual.

Charleston embraces the design inspiration of the West Indies and the traditional South, harmonizing them in a singular voice. West Indies pays homage to tropical craftsmanship using botanical sculpture and braided cane, accentuating classic British and Dutch colonial forms. Traditional southern represents the sophisticated beauty of marquetry details like string inlays, hand trimming, and fluted and fluted elements. The two personalities combine to create a diverse personality by easily arranging unique environments.

Warm cherry veneers contrast beautifully with a “black cherry” finish, adding to the heritage nature of the collection. Look for vibrant colors like Canary Yellow, Waterscape Blue, White Heron, Gullah Green, and Yellow Ochre. The hardware throughout the collection is eclecticly custom designed in concert with the idea of beautiful antiques and treasures from the past.

“This collection is inspired by the rich history, culture and charm of the Southeast region developed by people from around the world who have chosen to call it home,” said Mike Harris, President of Hooker Casegoods. and Upholstery. “Charleston is for traditionalists and a new generation of consumers who are redefining what that term means, so we’ve created pieces that we believe offer a fresh take on classic shapes, finishes and materials. We’re even went so far as to create an antique store in layout reminiscent of the experience of walking the streets of Charleston.

Also launching in this market, the Nouveau Chic collection is a modern, relaxed group of 36 pieces inspired by the curvaceous yet simple designs that are popular today. Nouveau Chic brings together classic architectural elements like cathedral and quartered oak, the movement of soft shapes, metallic stingray and polished metal accents to create a modern aesthetic that is both dramatic and simple.

“The modern, casual consumer is looking for calming, versatile pieces to anchor their home and support their individual design choices,” said Jenni Jungers, executive vice president of merchandising at Hooker Furniture. “Nouveau Chic delivers just that, bringing a graceful blend of design, fashion, utility and performance to living spaces throughout the home.”

In addition to the two new collections, Hooker Furniture will also expand its Big Sky collection which it introduced last April with a line extension called Tahoe. Big Sky: Tahoe includes 21 new bedrooms, dining rooms, and occasional rooms to complement the lineup’s already robust offerings. “With the huge response to Big Sky’s latest market, we felt there was a broader expression of the band’s inspiration, and we’re thrilled to introduce these new additions,” said Mike Harris, president of Hooker Casegoods and Upholstery.
